Matt Eich

Matt Eich (b. 1986) is a photographic essayist based in Charlottesville, Virginia. His long-form projects address themes of memory, family, community, and the American condition. He is currently publishing The Invisible Yoke, a series of four monographs, with Swiss publisher Sturm & Drang. The final volume is due in 2021. Matt also regularly self-publishes zines and book maquettes under the imprint Little Oak Press.

Eich received a BS in photojournalism from Ohio University and an MFA in photography from the University of Hartford. His clients include Apple, The Atlantic, The New Yorker, and TIME, and his work has received grant support from an Aaron Siskind Fellowship and National Geographic. His awards and honors include a 2013 residency at Light Work and the 2019 Robert Rauschenberg Residency.
