Lawson Little

Lawson Little is a photographer best known for chronicling nearly 40 years of country music and its Westward migration from Appalachia. He has been based in Nashville since 1997, where he has photographed the music industry and Americana’s leading figures. While pursuing an undergraduate education at the Rhode Island School of Design, Little studied with Harry Callahan and Aaron Siskand, and after completing his MFA at the California Institute of the Arts in Los Angeles, he began his career as a professional photographer. He shot for magazines and record labels, but took his involvement beyond the scope of his assignments, and documenting the evolution of country music became his life’s work.
