A Visual Narrative of the ever-changing american south
Exhibition and PROGRAMMING highlights
Inspired by Eudora Welty's observation that “one place understood helps us understand all places better," curators Amy Miller of Atlanta Celebrates Photography and The Do Good Fund founder, Alan Rothschild, selected photographs for One Place Understood that, taken together, illustrate a place that is “The South:” a place on the map, an environment, and stories that are simultaneously simple and complex. Universally comprehended, and yet deeply personal, these images provide an opportunity for viewers to understand the South, and perhaps all places, better.
